I write to understand more about the world around me.
I begin with an idea, then expand on that thought through research and listening to experts on that topic.
I believe it's our job as writers to produce the most accurate account of what we know while remaining open to learning.
There is great power and responsibility in storytelling. Also, the opportunity to learn things we never knew we never knew.
As a writer, mother, wife, and deep thinker, I understand the need for small groups of women to gather together.
We need people to share life with who we trust.
We don't have to understand or compare our story to someone else's; every experience is uniquely our own, and no matter where we've been, we all deserve someone by our side as we look ahead.
I began writing as a little girl, and someone told me that writing is a hobby, and not a way to make a living. The years taught me that to live, I must write. So here I am.
My passion for helping others to call themselves 'writers' and 'authors' led to RAD Books Publishing and Shoalhaven House. In these spaces, I hold workshops and coach writers to take their stories from ideas to published books.
My experience as Kids Church Director, Mom, Daughter, College graduate, military life, and expatriate; feed into the themes I write about. It's a broad perspective, but I don't believe writers should have to fit into boxes or follow the norm of past authors and publishers.
I encourage myself and other writers to Imagine where our stories can take readers if only we are brave enough to set them free into the world. Let's explore that together :)
Thank you kindly for visiting this space, and keep chasing your rainbows!
